Yellow Ball Sponge (Cinachyra alloclada)

The Yellow Ball sponge, Cinachyra alloclada, are among the more resilient types of sponges. This encrusting species is known for its bright yellow color. As filter feeders, it’s crucial to keep them fully submerged at all times, as they should never be removed from the water.

When introducing them to the aquarium, it’s best to open their bag underwater to allow the sponge to enter the tank seamlessly. They thrive in an established aquarium environment. To prevent algae growth on them, placing them in an area with higher water flow and some shade is often the optimal choice.
