Banded Serpent Star (Ophioderma appressa)

$9.00

The Banded Brittle Star is an excellent scavenger for marine aquariums, originating from the rubble zones of Micronesia. Its central disc is dark brown with tan markings, and its long legs are banded with light and dark brown coloration. Numerous spines on its legs help it search for food.

This starfish prefers a well-established saltwater aquarium with plenty of live rock. It is nocturnal, often hiding under rocks during the day and emerging in the evening to feed on debris and small organisms. It does not tolerate copper-based medications.

In the aquarium, it can be fed chopped meaty foods, frozen brine, mysis shrimp, and zooplankton.
