Golden Hamlets (Hypopectrus gummigutta) are vibrant, moderately sized predatory fish, well-suited for aquarium environments.
These fish prefer setups with plenty of hiding spots, as well as open areas to swim freely. They thrive on a varied diet and should ideally be housed with peaceful tank mates, as they may be stressed by overly aggressive fish.
In the wild, Golden Hamlets feed on small crustaceans and invertebrates. In an aquarium setting, they do well on a diet of meaty foods, such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and a selection of high-quality frozen foods.
