Horseshoe Crab (Limulus polyphemus)

Horseshoe crabs spend their active time burrowing and sifting through the sand bed in search of food. They are an excellent choice for maintaining a well-aerated and clean substrate in saltwater reef aquariums.

Juvenile Horseshoe Crabs are particularly charming additions to coral reef aquariums, typically ranging in size from 1 to 2 inches.

Horseshoe crabs are considered living fossils, having existed for over 500 million years, dating back to the era of the dinosaurs, and have blue blood.

Regarding compatibility, it’s important to consider whether Horseshoe crabs can coexist with zebra or moray eels and other predatory species in the aquarium.
