Harlequin Basslet (Serranus tigrinus)

The Harlequin Basslet (Serranus tigrinus) is a striking saltwater fish prized for its vibrant coloration and bold patterns. Native to the Caribbean and Western Atlantic, this hardy species features a cream to yellow body adorned with dark tiger-like stripes and splashes of blue near the fins.

Growing up to 4 inches, the Harlequin Basslet is an excellent addition to medium-sized aquariums, where it thrives in rockwork with plenty of hiding spaces.

It is a semi-aggressive carnivore that feeds on small crustaceans and meaty foods. Suitable for experienced aquarists, this fish is best housed individually or with non-aggressive tank mates.
