The Red Leg Reef Hermit, Clibanarius digueti, is similar to the Blue Leg Hermit, this species is recognized for consuming detritus, aquarium food, decomposing matter, and various types of algae, including filamentous (hair algae), diatoms, and cyanobacteria. It actively sifts through the aquarium’s top sand layer.
Although generally safe for reef aquariums, caution is advised as it might occasionally nip at corals. Additionally, there’s a possibility of it attacking and killing snails to acquire their shells.
