Upside Down Jellyfish (Cassiopea)

The Upside-Down Jellyfish, Cassiopea, is native to warmer coastal waters such as those in the Caribbean and the Atlantic. True to its name, this jellyfish lives upside down. It is relatively small and comes in various colors, including white, blue, green, and brown.

These jellyfish should be kept in a well-established tank with moderate to high lighting and moderate to low water movement. A thick, sandy substrate is ideal for them to swim freely. Be cautious when handling them, as they can deliver mild stings that may irritate the skin.

The Upside-Down Jellyfish has a unique ability to convert light into nutrients through photosynthesis. Additionally, they can be supplemented with planktonic food.
