Arrow Crab (Stenorhynchus seticornus)

$12.99

The Arrow Crab, or Spider Crab, has elongated legs and a body/head shape resembling an arrow. It varies in size, with some reaching 10 inches and others six inches. Different species inhabit different parts of the world. The most common type, Stenorhynchus seticornis, is from the Caribbean, while others come from the Indo-Pacific, eastern Africa, and California. They typically inhabit reef areas near small caves or crevices.

Arrow Crabs are hardy and long-lived invertebrates suitable for reef aquariums. They may attack crustaceans and small fish, and scavenge for food if necessary. They can also help control smaller pests like Bristle Worms. Breeding them in aquariums is generally challenging. Larvae are free-swimming and hatch in about two weeks. They accept various meaty, flake, and tablet foods.
